After months of rest because of my illness and anemia, I still went to the European championships in Sochi, Russia. For I did not have the best preparation, I went there not having high expectations at all. I fenced the poule quite nicely and lost only two matches, one with 5-4 the other with 5-3. This gave me a free ticket to the tableau of 32 and there I had an easy match. In the tableau of 16, I came across the previous European and World champion. I fenced great at the beginning of the match and had a score of 7-8 in the break. After that, I lost focus and this meant my defeat. My final ranking was 12th place and that is way more than I could have wished for at that moment.
